Our History

Sorren’s Chicago office brings together the experience and history of several respected accounting firms with deep roots in the local business community.

The Monroe Street team, formerly Jesser, Ravid, Jason, Basso and Farber, LLP (JRJBF), was formed in 2013 through the merger of Jesser and Farber, LLP, founded in 1998, and Ravid & Bernstein, LLP, founded in 1983. The firm built a strong reputation for financial expertise, innovative client service, inclusive leadership, and a commitment to equity, belonging, and respect.

The Washington Street team also brings decades of experience serving Chicago businesses. In 2022, Madison-based KMA merged with BrookWeiner, a firm with more than 50 years of service to Chicago’s business community. In 2023, KMA joined forces with Schuman Simon + Grodecki (SSG), another established local firm known for its client-first approach and technical expertise.

Today, these teams are united as Sorren Chicago, combining decades of experience, diverse perspectives, and a shared commitment to delivering comprehensive services with the personal care and attention our clients value.
