Jared Carpenter is a Director of Tax at Sorren, based in Reno, Nevada, where he provides tax planning, compliance, and advisory services for privately held businesses and their owners. His experience spans transportation and logistics, construction, retail and e-commerce, healthcare, and family offices and high-net-worth individuals. Jared primarily serves multi-entity, multi-state businesses ranging from approximately $1 million to $10 million in revenue, helping clients navigate increasingly complex tax and financial decisions while developing strategies that support long-term growth.
Jared brings strong technical tax expertise across federal, state, and international matters, including mergers and acquisitions, entity structuring, accounting methods, ASC 740 income tax provisions, and IRS and state examinations and appeals. He combines that technical background with proactive planning, helping clients evaluate legislative changes and address tax considerations before they become year-end compliance issues. Jared is particularly focused on building trusted, long-term relationships with business owners and their advisors. He was also selected for the AICPA Leadership Academy, an experience that strengthened his commitment to client service, mentorship, and leadership within the accounting profession.
Originally from Breezy Point, Minnesota, Jared was inspired to pursue accounting in part by his grandfather, a CPA who spent more than 50 years helping business owners navigate financial decisions. Outside of work, Jared enjoys golf and follows the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Dodgers, Vegas Golden Knights, and Nevada Wolf Pack. His travels have taken him to Mount Hua in China’s Shaanxi Province, and he is currently working toward another personal goal: completing his private pilot’s license.
