Lucas Gonzalez is the Partner-in-Charge of Sorren Inc.’s Reno and Carson City offices, where he focuses on tax planning and advisory services for closely held businesses in the real estate and construction industries. With experience supporting clients ranging from approximately $1 million to $100 million in revenue, Lucas works with general contractors, specialty contractors, developers, investors, and high-performing real estate professionals. He helps them navigate tax complexity, plan ahead, and make confident business decisions. He is especially valued for staying closely connected with clients throughout the year so he can respond quickly to time-sensitive needs and deliver guidance that aligns with both current operations and long-term goals.
Lucas began his career with legacy firm Casey Neilon as an intern during his final semester at the University of Nevada, Reno, and steadily advanced from intern to partner, building deep relationships with both clients and team members along the way. His long tenure at the same firm allowed him to understand every phase of client service and the role each team member plays in delivering high-quality work. Lucas was drawn to public accounting because he wanted to provide business owners with the same kind of practical advice and guidance, he saw a CPA deliver to a family construction company support that directly contributed to the business’s success. He takes pride in helping family businesses transition to the next generation, guiding both planning and tax considerations to help preserve the legacy the prior generation built. At Sorren, Lucas is excited to connect the clients he serves with the expanded expertise and resources the firm can provide.
A native of Reno, Lucas is grateful to live and raise his family in Northern Nevada, so much so that his daughters now attend the same elementary school he did. Outside of work, he enjoys getting outdoors to ski and is currently teaching his daughters how to ski as well. He also grew up playing guitar and played in a band through high school and college, including touring along the West Coast.
