Michelle Turnage, CPA, CGFM

Michelle Turnage is a Senior Manager at Sorren Inc. and Sorren CPAs, P.C., based in the firm’s Raleigh office. She joined the legacy firm, Williams Overman Pierce, in 2021. Michelle works closely with nonprofits, employee benefit plans, and other organizations subject to Yellow Book and Single Audit requirements, helping them navigate their financial reporting and compliance needs. Beyond audits, she enjoys partnering with clients on audit readiness, internal control reviews, and general advisory projects—always with a focus on building strong, lasting relationships. Before joining the firm, Michelle spent 14 years with a Big Four accounting firm, where she gained extensive experience auditing federal, state, and local government entities in accordance with Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book), GASB, FASAB, FASB, and Uniform Guidance requirements. Michelle is known for her collaborative approach and commitment to making the audit process as smooth and constructive as possible for both her clients and her teams.

Outside of work, she loves traveling, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on her two daughters in competitive dance.
