Rich Franz is the Chief Operating Officer and Southeast Regional Managing Partner at Sorren, where he oversees the firm’s day-to-day operations, internal systems, and strategic initiatives that drive growth, integration, and innovation. With a background in financial assurance and advisory, Rich brings decades of experience helping businesses interpret financial data and make confident decisions that advance their goals. Before joining Sorren, Rich began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Tampa, where he served clients across a wide range of industries, including affordable housing development, craft breweries, technology, and manufacturing. Known for his thoughtful approach and analytical rigor, he provided advisory support that helped clients move forward with clarity and purpose.

As COO, Rich plays a central role in developing and executing firmwide strategies while fostering a connected and values-driven firm culture. He leads internal functions including change management, marketing, innovation, and technology, ensuring the infrastructure supports both client-facing solutions and employee success. Rich also partners closely with regional and national leadership to support integration, operational efficiency, and scalable delivery models across all service lines.

Rich is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has held leadership roles on several professional committees, including serving as Chair of the FICPA’s University of Florida Accounting Conference. His commitment to community involvement is equally strong—he has served as Treasurer for American Stage Theater, a member of the Arts Advisory Committee for the City of St. Petersburg, and a member of the finance committee for the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce. He is also a Leadership St. Pete alumnus (Class of 2005), former Executive Committee Chair (2009), and former board member of the Leadership St. Pete Alumni Association.

A Florida native, Rich lives in Clearwater with his wife and three children. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring new places with his family.
