Thomas Whiteman is a Principal at Sorren and brings decades of experience in tax planning, compliance, and consulting services. Tom joined SBF in 2014 following the merger of Whiteman & Company, the firm he founded in 1992. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with clients across industries, including construction, restaurants, and long-term care, offering tailored guidance on everything from software implementation to succession planning. Known for his proactive, year-round approach, Tom helps businesses and individuals navigate complex financial decisions with confidence. His expertise includes business development, accounting system implementation, and advisory services focused on long-term growth. Clients appreciate his ability to simplify processes, anticipate opportunities, and provide dependable support at every stage of their journey.
A long-time St. Petersburg resident, he and his wife, Cheryl, enjoy boating, time with their two children and grandchildren, and traveling abroad. Tom’s community involvement includes previous leadership roles with the Exchange Club of Northeast St. Petersburg, the Florida Suncoast Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and the Board of Trustees at St. Anthony’s Hospital, as well as serving on the hospital’s Finance Committee. Tom is a past graduate of Leadership St. Pete and a former appointee to the city commission.
