W.G. Spoor is the National Tax Managing Partner at Sorren, where he leads the firm’s national tax strategy and oversees the delivery of high-impact tax solutions across all industries and geographies. A key member of Sorren’s firm leadership team, W.G. is responsible for ensuring technical excellence, operational efficiency, and client-focused innovation across the tax practice. His role encompasses strategic growth, talent development, risk management, and the advancement of firmwide consistency and quality in all tax-related matters. He works closely with Regional Managing Partners and Industry Leaders to ensure seamless service delivery and the continued growth of the firm’s tax capabilities. Under his guidance, Sorren’s tax team is focused on digital transformation, talent development, and delivering consistent value at every level, from high-net-worth individuals to large, multi-entity businesses.
W.G. brings decades of experience advising clients on complex tax compliance and consulting matters, with particular expertise in succession planning, business acquisitions, retirement strategies, and IRS representation. He is known for translating complex tax regulations into practical strategies that minimize tax burdens and support long-term client goals. His strategic leadership helps business owners make confident, forward-looking decisions while navigating a constantly evolving tax landscape.
Beyond the firm, W.G. is a passionate leader in the profession and his community. Nationally, he has served on the AICPA Council and AICPA Uniform Accountancy Act Committee. W.G. lives in St. Petersburg with his wife and their two children. Outside of work, he enjoys tennis and traveling. He’s an avid supporter of Florida State University football and values time spent outdoors and with his family.
