Andrew Sherwood is a Senior Manager at Sorren CPAs, P.C., where he oversees audits for a range of governmental and nonprofit clients, including cities, school districts, airports, and community organizations. With deep technical knowledge in governmental accounting, federal and state single audits, and financial reporting, Andrew supports clients through complex audits and ensures compliance with evolving accounting standards. Before joining legacy firm KDP in 2022, Andrew served as the Accounting Manager for the City of Irving, Texas, where he oversaw a team of seven and was responsible for more than 130 individual funds, including a single-employer pension plan. During his tenure, he implemented financial policy improvements, streamlined reporting processes, and helped the city earn its first GFOA “Triple Crown” designation, recognizing excellence in financial reporting, popular reporting, and budgeting. His experience includes preparing comprehensive annual financial reports (ACFRs), assisting with single audit compliance, and supporting clients during leadership transitions or process overhauls. Known for his problem-solving mindset, Andrew is a trusted advisor for clients navigating technical accounting issues or organizational change. Originally from Louisiana, Andrew brings both a sharp technical eye and a service-oriented approach to each engagement.
