Nicholas Taglia

Nicholas Taglia is a Director in Sorren’s Assurance department, based in Chicago, Illinois, where he provides audit and attestation services for a diverse group of middle-market clients. He works closely with organizations across various industries, including nonprofit organizations, employee benefit plans, financial services, manufacturing, distribution, and U.S. subsidiaries of foreign companies. Nicholas supports clients with revenue ranging from approximately $1 million to $100 million, helping them strengthen financial reporting, address risk, and utilize reliable financial information to make informed business decisions.

With 20+ years of experience, Nicholas brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to overseeing engagements and advising clients on accounting and reporting matters. Nicholas is also a member of Sorren’s Attestation Leadership Committee, where he contributes to firm-wide quality initiatives and helps build the infrastructure needed to support Sorren’s continued growth as a leading assurance provider. Nicholas is especially valued for his ability to help clients navigate complex and sensitive situations. His experience includes investigating suspected fraudulent activity perpetrated by a property management company, identifying embezzlement, and providing management with clear findings and recommendations to prevent future issues. He also advises clients facing industry disruption and rapid change, helping them understand the impact on their business reporting, an example being a consolidation driven by the shift toward electric vehicles.

Outside of work, Nicholas grew up in the Chicago suburbs and enjoys volunteering at his children’s elementary school. A self-described movie buff and lifelong sports fan, he follows all Chicago teams, especially the Bears. He also enjoys traveling abroad, with Venice among his favorite destinations.
